Description

CrossCryptGUI is a frontend to the CrossCrypt OTFE system

If it doesn't, and you can download the stable version, a beta version of the next version has not yet been released. The beta version is unsupported, but please feel free to email me if you have any comments on it.

Notes

Please, do read the documentation in this file before emailing me! I know it's not much, and only really covers the basics, but...
Pretty much everything in CrossCryptGUI works as it seems, so I won't go into too much detail as to how everything works. Besides, who reads manuals anyway? ;) Anything you're not too sure of, just make an educated guess; you'll probably be right!
To use the CrossCryptGUI, you must first install CrossCrypt (Duh!)
From the main window, doubleclicking on a mounted drive will launch explorer on that drive. Rightclicking brings up a menu.
CrossCryptGUI does not write anything to the Windows registry (for those that are interested).

Appendix A: Version History

v0.75.00 BETA 1 (29th May 2004)

Volumes over 1999MB can now be created. (This was caused by "funnyness" with Delphi - multiplying two 32 bit numbers together returns a 32 bit value, even when it is being assigned to a 64 bit integer!)
CrossCryptGUI will terminate with a suitable error message if the CrossCrypt driver can't be found.
Fixed minor bug that caused the "*"s obscuring the user's password to reveal the characters being typed in after "multiline" was selected, and then deselected. (Not so much of a security risk as an annoying mistake)
Modified volume creation dialog to prevent users from entering the volume filename directly. Users must now specify the filename, and full path to it by clicking the browse ("...") button. (This change was introduced as some users complained that after typing in a filename without a path, CrossCryptGUI couldn't create their volume. Of course it couldn't! With no path, it didn't know where to put it!)
